Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division has today announced the appointment of Geoff Sagar, who joins the company as Senior Product Manager with a responsibility for ensuring a competitive, robust and fit-for-purpose range of joystick controllers and position sensors to ensure Curtiss-Wright maintains its dominant position in the marketplace.

Commenting, Andrew Thornton, Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division’s VP of Sales & Marketing says: “We are looking forward to Geoff applying his experience and knowledge to help form our next generation of controllers and sensors, and to maintain and extend our position and reputation. His experience in industrial controls and instrumentation, and work undertaken in the defense and heavy industrial sectors, is of real value and has huge potential for Curtiss-Wright.

With over 30 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing roles, Geoff started his career as a design engineer and project manager, having graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Surrey in the UK. Having worked a variety of roles in business development and product management, many of the projects and solutions he has been involved in have been for products in specialized industries or demanding environments, making Geoff an ideal successor to the role, a position previously held at Curtiss-Wright Industrial Division by Les Metcalfe, who retires this year following 44 years with the company.

Commenting on his appointment, Geoff Sagar says: “My industrial experience brings a mix of business development, marketing, and engineering to the role to ensure resulting solutions fulfil or exceed customer expectations. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and warm welcome received, and to Les Metcalfe who has been extremely helpful in getting me up to speed and will leave a huge legacy of success and respect behind him, to which I can only begin to aspire.”

Outside of his work commitments, Geoff enjoys the teamwork and positivity of getting involved in charity fundraisers and community projects for local school associations, as well as promoting STEM topics to young people to encourage the next generation of engineers and technologists.
